Matsuri Japanese Perth

Uncomplicated Japanese served with zest.
Food comes fast. My regular order is the eel with rice.
The pork tonkatsu with Japanese curry feeds the hungry 15 year old. This is his regular order.
A new item was the stewed ribs. Deliciously rich and tasty broth.
Ramen for the ladies who love noodles.
Udon noodles plain to slurp down with gusto.
The sashimi standard order for us. Plenty large servings but not too exotic. Staples of salmon, tuna and white fish. Ok there was a bit of octopus.
Gyoza for the young lady who loves dumplings.
Wow second serving of Gyoxa. Must be good or well cooked.

Definitely worth a visit. The whole meal above cost under $160 for 5 people. Uncluttered, fast, straight shooting Japanese food. Consistent and always good for local Australian taste.

You Tiao Pavillion

Soya bean drink, protein & fried dough. Maybe rice porridge as well. Staple comfort food. Some might call it bland but helps soothe the stomach. For some foodies anyway.
The stall is located in the basement food court  "Food Republic"
You can add your own range of cane or brown sugar. The fried dough sticks are crispy & hot. The red beans in the round fried bread adds sweetness to the dough.
The bean curd(tau foo far) was hot and you can add your own quantity of sugar. I had 2 ladles. 1 more than really needed. Oh well! Cravings..

Old town coffee vs Nyonya Colors Midvalley

Kaya toast & coffee in 2 food outlets in Midvalley. On todays toast off Nyonya Colours had the win. Their toast was warm and fluffy. Eggs were softer. The drinks were better value and more to my taste.
Nyonya also better able to meet my no butter heathy request.
See photos of toast below. Dark toast from old town. Nyonya also served the toast without butter. As I requested.
The price package with toast, eggs and hot drink was better in Nyonya. In comparison Old town have to order individual items from board as set menu not so readily published on board.

Check it out at http://www.nyonyacolors.com/ For the white toast above. Brown toast below from Old town coffee.

Eggs and Hot cocoa from Nyonya Colors.

We did a lot of walking in Mid Valley Mega Mall to walk off the two breakfasts.
