Looking for a place to have Singapore style coffee or tea in Raffles City. Well try the Kopitiam in the basement. Kopitiam is the Singapore euphemism for Coffee Shop. There was a queue waiting so usually a good sign.
I was with old primary school friend and we were looking for a place to have chat.
Since it was late afternoon we decided to fore go the caffeine hit and had barley water. This was barley boiled in water with sugar added. It is supposed to be a cooling drink. Add ice and it is lovely on a hot humid day in Singapore.
The restaurant also serves local favourites like Bak Kut Teh or pork ribs in a herb soup. Char kway teow, fried carrot cake, nasi lemak and rojak is also available.
